Somerville's William Schiemann named Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology fellow Posted: 27 Aug 2010 05:08 PM PDT Published: Friday, August 27, 2010, 7:48 PM Updated: Friday, August 27, 2010, 8:40 PMSOMERVILLE — Dr. William Schiemann, CEO of Somerville-based Metrus Group, was recently honored as a SIOP Fellow.
According to SIOP, the designation SIOP Fellow is "an honor bestowed upon SIOP Members (and international affiliates) who have shown evidence of unusual and outstanding contributions or performance in I-O psychology, through research, practice, teaching, administration and/or professional service." Dr. Schiemann's, who lives in Clinton Township, contributions include serving on the SHRM Foundation Board since 2005,and in 2010, serving as Foundation Board Chair (the SHRM Foundation is the nonprofit affiliate of SHRM, Society for Human Resource Management). According to the Foundation: "The mission of the SHRM Foundation is to maximize the impact of the HR profession on organizational decision-making and performance by promoting innovation, education, research, and the use of research-based knowledge." Dr. Schiemann's most recent book, "Reinventing Talent Management—How to Maximize Performance in the New Marketplace" was published by John Wiley and SHRM in Fall, 2009.
